Accompanist

The Candidate:

Our ideal candidate should -

• have the ability to sight-read, accompany vocal warm ups, score read and play from a 4-part open score and, preferably, have previous experience of accompanying choirs;
• have a musical ear and ability to keep track of a rehearsal, giving notes and supporting harmony as required;
• be able to support choir members of different abilities in their musical appreciation and development;
• have a good understanding of the needs of Amateur Choirs;
• be capable of standing-in, as required, for our Musical Director, and leading the Choir in rehearsals and concerts. (You can find out more about our Musical Director, Simon Berridge at https://voxfulgentis.com/about_me/) ;
• be a motivational figure with a good sense of humour;
• be able to work closely with our Musical Director and the Choir Committee, and
• be willing to help the Choir pursue their vision.

The names and addresses of 2 referees should be supplied, one of whom should be a professional musician with whom you have recently worked.
