Musical Director

Bicester Concert Band is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Musical Director to join us from February 2025.

We are a thriving community band of 40 members rehearsing once a week (Tuesday) during term time and hold two main concerts a year.

We are seeking an individual who will continue to improve the Band, as a whole, but also encourage and support members to improve their performance. You should have some experience of directing a musical group of any type but ideally a concert/military band format.

Timeline

Applications closing date – Sunday 15th Dec 2024

Shortlisting will be completed by Sunday 22nd Dec 2024

Those shortlisted will be informed by Monday 23rd Dec 2024 and invited to take a rehearsal of an hour and a half duration in January 2025, attend a short interview with selected members of the committee. They will also be asked to provide a sample concert programme they would like the band to perform. (A list of the current music library will be provided to those shortlisted)

We are aiming for the successful candidate to start with the band in early February 2025
