Leader

Abergavenny Symphony Orchestra wishes to appooint a new Leader for September 2018.

The orchestra is a community orchestra with players of varying age and experience, from Grade VI to professoin, perfoming works from classical to 21st century.  We usually give 3 main concerts a year, also a Children's Concert and a "come and play" workshop day.  We rehearse in Abergavenny on Sunday evenings.

The orchestra has enjoyed a continuous increase in its playing standards over the last 16 years, allowing us to perform works by Brahms, Sibelius, Shostakovich and Mahler, among others.

We are looking to appoint a new leader who can help us to build further on the progress we have already made, and to work with our Music Director, Dennis Simons.  This is an opportunity to lead a orchestra with talented, friendly and enthusiastic musicians, and a music director who is himself a distinguished violinist, leader and teacher.
