Shostakovich - conducting workshop

The Rehearsal Orchestra

A rehearsal workshop with four talented conductors from the Royal College of Music's postgraduate course in orchestral conducting, nominated by Toby Purser, the RCM's Head of Conducting. Each conductor will work on a movement of Shostakovich's fifth symphony, under the supervision of our Artistic Director, Levon Parikian.

Rehearsals take place in the morning and afternoon, and the day culminates in Open Rehearsal/informal playthrough at the end of the afternoon.

Applications are invited from orchestral players over the age of eighteen, playing at Grade 8-plus or equivalent.

Strings are led by a team of experienced professional section principals.

Schedule: 10.30-13.30, 14.30-17.15 and Open Rehearsal 17.45-18.30
