Solent Concert Orchestra
About
We are a friendly and supportive group of about thirty players giving regular concerts in the Southampton, Solent and New Forest area. The aims of the orchestra are to give enjoyment and practice to its members, to encourage musicians to join and obtain higher musical standards and to bring musical enjoyment to audiences. We have strong input from orchestra members in the selection of music played, with account taken of requests by the venues hosting us.
During the year we perform three concerts with a wide repertoire, from classical to light modern which includes symphonies and concertos.
We rehearse on Thursday evenings from 7.45pm to 9.45pm.
We currently have vacancies for additional strings (especially violas!) trombones, 2nd bassoon and percussion.
