Sittingbourne Orpheus Choral Soc.

Sittingbourne Orpheus Choral Society currently stages three / four concerts per year, held at Schools within the Sittingbourne area, often accompanied by piano, a semi-professional orchestra and soloists. Established in 1944, the choir has a tradition of performing to a high standard; singing well-known choral works to light popular songs, including the Beatles and even Queen! The choir has an established reputation as the leading choral society in Swale; recently hosting, in 2018, a joint choirs Armistice Concert performed by 150 singers and Kent Sinfonia. Over the past few years, the choir has been invited to sing at various local, charities, funerals and celebration events. The choir is a non-auditioning choir of approximately 70 singers, drawn from Sittingbourne and surrounding towns, encompassing all ages, from students to the recently retired, and from all walks of life. We are very proud to have a few long-serving members in the choir and celebrate its diversity and longevity.
