Ripieno Choir | Making Music

Ripieno Choir

The Ripieno Choir is a small chamber choir of around thirty singers, directed by Patrick Allies, and based near Esher. We perform a range of sacred and secular music, specialising in the music of Renaissance and Baroque periods but also relishing more contemporary works too. Much of the repertoire is unaccompanied, but when additional forces are called for the choir is able to attract first-class professional soloists and specialist instrumental ensembles.

The choir has a reputation for its vocal blend, professional approach, and performances of less well-known pieces, including the occasional UK première (such as works by Freddi, Croce and Charpentier). As well as the more intimate chamber repertoire we have also undertaken bigger works not usually associated with a small choir, such as Monteverdi's Vespers of 1610, Bach's B Minor Mass and the Bach Passions.
