Five Valleys Voices

Introduction
We are a non-audition, inclusive and very friendly community choir, based in Gloucestershire, made up of higher and lower voices. We operate with two term per year; Term 1 starts in February with a June Concert and Term 2 starts in September with a festive concert in December. Our repertoire is an eclectic mix of songs ranging from choral to gospel to rock, pop and folk. We welcome new members to join us for two free rehearsals before committing to joining us but ask these are these are taken within the first four weeks of term.
Rehearsals
We meet on Monday nights, at either St Marys Church, North Woodchester,GL5 5PF. https://woodchesterstmarys.org/ or at Woodchester school; both are very close together. There is street parking but it can get tight so share a lift if possible. The higher voice choir meets at 6.50pm,ready for a prompt 7.00pm start. We rehearse for an hour and a half. The lower voice choir meets at 8.20pm for a prompt 8.30 start, also for an hour and a half. As we approach a concert or a performance, we may tweak the times to enable greater overlap for practicing jointly and there will usually be some extra rehearsals in the week leading up to a concert.
Rehearsal etiquette
Please arrive on time and with your music ready to sing. Bring a drink if you need one. We invite choir members to suggest a warm up piece. Put your phones away during rehearsals, unless you are using them to read music. Please keep chatting to a minimum when other sections are practicing. Ideally use a pencil for marking your music, we return our sheet music to the choir librarian after our performances.
Fees
Our fees are £126 per half year, or a monthly standing order of £21. We operate cashless so card or standing order are required. There maybe lower cost places available. Our aim is to be accessible to everyone who wants to sing.
Fundraising
In order to maintain our choir funds, we plan to run a number of fundraising events for members, their families and friends, over the course of the year.
Any funds raised will be used to subsidise or pay for new music and for publicising our events.
