Group Membership Terms and Conditions

By your music group becoming a member of Making Music, you, and any member of your group using the Making Music website and membership services, are bound by the Making Music membership terms and conditions.

Right to refuse membership application

By submitting the online application form you are applying for membership of Making Music. Completion of you application is subject to our approval of your application. We reserve the right to refuse your application. Any refusal will be communicated and explained to you.

Membership Services and benefits

Any member of your music group, when acting on behalf of your music group, can have access to the membership area of the Making Music website and our full range of membership services.

A full list of the membership services and benefits can be found here. We reserve the right to change the membership benefits and services at any time and without prior notice.

Individuals with a ‘Group Admin’ role on the Making Music website are responsible for extending access to members of your music group. Each individual user accepts responsibility for all activities that occur under their member account. We reserve the right to give, deny and remove access to the site at our discretion.

Each individual user must inform Making Music (via updating their profile via the website, via email or by phone) of any changes to personal information such as name, postal and email addresses, contact telephone numbers. All website users are bound by the website disclaimer and copyright.

Access to certain areas of our website is restricted. We reserve the right to restrict access to any areas of our website, or indeed our whole website, at our discretion.
 
If you are found to be sharing membership resources and services with groups who are not members of Making Music, or individuals who are not linked to Members of Making music, we reserve the right to suspend your access to resources and services.

Guidance provided by Making Music as part of your memberships is not legal advice unless explicitly stated. Whilst every effort is made to ensure that any information provided is accurate and up to date, we do not warrant, nor do we accept any liability or responsibility for the completeness or accuracy of the advice, or for any loss which may arise from reliance on the information contained in it. We are not responsible for claims brought by third parties arising from your use of the guidance. Refunds

Membership and insurance refunds are available when groups dissolve during their membership year on the following basis.

Time group dissolves 1 Jan to 31 Jan 1 Feb to 28 Feb 1 Mar to 31 Mar 1 April onwards
Amount of subscription fee refunded  60% 40% 20% 0%

Complaints procedure

We will send an initial response to any complaint within 5 working days of receiving it to let you know who is dealing with it and what measures we are taking.

We will aim to resolve your complaint within 20 Working days. Some complaints may take longer to resolve. In these instances we will update you on the status of your complaint within 20 working days or receiving it. From the 20 day point we will communicate any updates on a regular basis until the complaint is resolved.

Data Protection

Making Music maintains a database which is processed in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1988. The database comprises personal details and information provided by members of Making Music and individual contacts, including any such information provided by electronic means. Any personal information will not be released to a third party without the prior consent of the individuals concerned.

Amendment of Terms and Conditions

Making Music reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions subject to seven days' written notification on this website.

Disclaimer

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English law. Any disputes relating to these terms and conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England. Whilst we endeavour to ensure that the information on this website is correct, we do not warrant its completeness or accuracy; nor do we commit to ensuring that the website remains available or that the material on the website is kept up-to-date.
