The foundation offers grants to CIOs and charities in areas including the arts, supporting a wide range of charitable activities, aiming to be responsive where the need is greatest.

The common themes of charities and projects offered funding are charities that demonstrate quality and excellence with projects that have clear outcomes and benefits, sound leadership and sensible business plans. Grants are not awarded for one-off events (e.g. festivals).

Wingate Foundation Music Grant

 

The Wingate Foundation grant scheme is intended to support organisations that provide education, resources or performance opportunities to musicians. The scheme aims to fund projects that have a large potential for success beyond the funding period.

Eligible expenditure includes:

  • Master Classes
  • Bursaries
  • Tuition
  • Performances and events
  • Eligible ongoing expenses or capital development projects

Southampton City Council Community Chest

 

Community Chest is the council's small grant scheme. Grants of between £100 and £2,500 are available for small, volunteer led community groups.

Community and voluntary organisations with an annual income of less than £250,000 supporting Southampton city residents are eligible to apply. Organisations with an annual income of less than £50,000 have priority.

Applicants must demonstrate that members/attendees make contributions towards the group/project unless there are exceptional circumstances not to do so.

Bassetlaw - Councillor Community Grants

 

The Fund aims to provide general grant support to the community that will benefit the socio-economic culture and environment of Bassetlaw. Each District Councillor is allocated a small budget and has the discretion to award grants to community activities that will benefit the community within their respective electoral ward areas.

The activity must be located within the Bassetlaw District or be of significant benefit to people living in Bassetlaw.
