The Stratford Town Trust's mission is to support and enhance the quality of life of the people of Stratford-upon-Avon. To that end, its grants programme has given out £1 million a year since 2001 to a range of local good causes, community projects and things that make Stratford a better place to live, work and study.
The Trust's key priorities are:
• Welfare and wellbeing - projects addressing need and suffering caused by poverty, sickness, disability, inequality, isolation, or being left out. This includes groups and projects promoting physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing, healthy living and improving opportunities for local people to live a full and active life.
• Strengthening communities - projects that help to bring and bind people together to have a voice, help one another, get involved and make their community stronger.
• Young people - projects that are led by young people for young people; helping them to access opportunities; grow into responsible citizens, fulfil their potential and deal with the challenges of life.
• Poverty - projects that are tackling fuel poverty, debt and unemployment.
• The Elderly -projects which, for example, address social isolation, dementia, barriers to accessing services and digital exclusion.
