Chard Town Council has been providing and distributing the Community Development Fund since 2010 in order to support and strengthen community participation, activities and events and to help develop a sustainable welcoming community in line with the Council’s grant making objectives:
- To enable local people to participate in voluntary groups and activities.
- To develop the provision of community services and facilities crucial to the town, via the voluntary sector.
- To help the Town’s voluntary groups to improve effectiveness.
- To ensure that there is equality of access and opportunity for all Chard residents to the services it provides and funds.
- To encourage partnership working between community groups and voluntary organisations, including with public and private sectors to explore new and innovative ways of delivering effective responses to the issues faced by the local community.
Grants of up to 75% of the total project cost to a maximum grant of £1,000 are available.
The maximum amount available per applicant per year is £1,000.
There is no minimum amount.
