This concert features piano trios, for piano, violin and cello, by Beethoven, Dvořák and Helen Grime.
Beethoven’s trio “The Ghost” (Op70/1) takes its name from an “eerie” section in the second movement, but it is one of his best known pieces in this format. Dvořák’s trio Op 90 is known as “The Dumky” – the name is derived from a Ukrainian term referring to a song or lament of captive people. The programme also includes “Whistler Miniatures” by Helen Grime, a set of 3 pieces which refer to paintings in the Veronese Room of a museum in Boston.
The Odysseus Piano Trio was formed in 2015 by established performers Sarah Trickey, Violin, Rosie Biss, Cello, and Hungarian Pianist Domonkos Csabay.
All are welcome at this event, for which we return to Linlithgow Primary School. Soft drinks and wine will be available in the interval.
