We have selected 3 pieces for this concert which show developing styles of string quartet through the “Classical” period from the mid-1700s to the start of the “Romantic” period in the early 1800s.
Haydn, the “Father of the string quartet ” is represented by his Op 74 from 1793. This will be followed by Schubert’s Op 9 from 1815, and the more romantic style of “Razumovsky No.3” quartet by Beethoven from 1806.
The performers came together while studying at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in 2018. They come from a variety of backgrounds and nationalities – England, Scotland/Taiwan and the USA. They hope to make classical music more inclusive and accessible – this concert is open to all and we hope that you will enjoy the selection and the new venue
Wine and soft drinks will be available in the interval.
