About the event:

Come to our latest Climate change network event – hear some inspiring speakers and come away with some useful tools for your music group to consider.

Twice a year, music groups gather in these online Climate change networks to be inspired and to share tips, tools and resources to help them make their own groups more environmentally sustainable and also to influence their group members, their families and friends, and audiences.

This time, we are delighted to welcome as speaker Jan-Willem Van Kruyssen. One of his core missions is to harness the power of arts and culture - music in this case - to engage with global challenges such as climate change. He will share 2 or 3 short examples of climate-related projects in which music has played an essential role in raising awareness, activating communities, fostering engagement and encouraging behavioural change and nature connectedness. We hope these stories will inspire others to see the broader potential of their own musical activities.

Our second speaker or set of speakers will be Chris Hutchings from the web resource Choirs for Climate and colleagues from Classical Declares which is part of Music Declares Emergency. They will be speaking of some practical ways in which we can all engage as musicians with this topic.

There will be an opportunity to ask questions via the chat function during the event.
