Rehearsals are well under way for the next concert by the Chantry Singers - Guildford, the first under our new conductor Peter Hicks.
The concert takes place at 7.30 pm on Saturday 5th April at our usual venue, St Nicolas Church, Bury Street, Guildford GU2 4AW.
Peter has compiled a programme of beautiful musical works by the major composers of the Renaissance period. It is titled A Legacy’s Echo as we are celebrating the 500th anniversary of the birth of Palestrina, one of the greatest composers of this period. We are singing his Missa Ave Regina Coelorum accompanied by two other shorter works of his and works by his contemporaries Byrd, Lobo, Parsons, Tallis and Victoria.
We would love to see you in the audience that evening to help welcome Peter as our new conductor. Tickets at £16 for adults, £2 for under 16’s can be purchased from choir members, by calling the number on the attached poster or by scanning the QR code on the poster.
