140 years of Ayr Choral : A Celebration

A"Greatest Hits" concert drawn from the favourites of 140 unbroken years of choral singing in Ayr. Music by Handel, Mozart, Vivaldi, and Faure leads up to more modern composers such as Ken Johnstone, and James MacMillan, who has written a new highly original and exciting work for Ayr Choral - Quas ego non terras, with words by Scottish poet and adventurer Arthur Johnston, which is premiered at the concert. With soloists including Marie Claire Breen, Andrew McTaggart and Cheryl Forbes, and Gordon Cree at the organ and a professional orchestra, this will be a real Gala evening not to be missed. Fizz and cake to celebrate plus an Exhibition of our interesting past are included in ticket prices.
