Description of vacancy:
The Thames Vale Singers are looking for a Musical Director to succeed our current director Max Fane,who is leaving to further his career as a conductor of music.
Our friendly choir was formed in the 1950s and currently consists of about 45 members. We rehearse weekly on a Tuesday evening from 7.45 pm until 10.00 pm from September to July in Purley On Thames. We perform concerts Spring, Summer and at Christmas. Our regular accompanist Peter Bernard, is accomplished on piano, keyboard, and church organ.
Our library holds a wide variety of scores and sheet music, which ranges from classical to popular, both sacred and secular. The choir enjoys the challenge of learning new works and pieces.
We are seeking a Musical Director who will encourage us to expand our musical repertoire, improve our sound and bring their own personal style to the choir.
The choir is s registered charity and pays an honorarium to both the the Musical Director and Accompanist.
