Repetiteur for The London Nordic Choir

The London Nordic Choir is seeking a repetiteur. The choir rehearses one weekend per month, plus one weekday evening per month (excluding a summer break in July and August). The monthly weekend rehearsals are led by the Director of Music. The repetiteur would lead one weekday evening rehearsal per month.

The successful candidate will also be expected to liaise with the Director of Music regarding specific repertoire parts, vocal part progress etc.

Skills the London Nordic Choir are looking for

• Familiarity with Nordic choral traditions and music styles.
• Excellent pianist and accompanist (when the Director of Music is present, she is likely to take the lead on the piano)
• Sight-reading proficiency. Assisting the choir with learning their different voice parts and working on/correcting their harmonies.
• Confidence with leading warm-ups, focussing on vocal exercises and harmonisation.
• The ability to lead monthly weekend rehearsals at short notice, in unforeseen events where the Director of Music can’t attend.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with the Director of Music and the choir as a whole.
