Campaigns and consultations

Campaigns are co-ordinated action plans – in the short, medium or long term - where Making Music works with members and others to respond as a strong collective voice on an issue. See what campaigns are active now and what Making Music has done in the past.

Consultations happen because governments and other bodies are looking for views on a particular strategy or new legislation; or because Making Music is asking for your input on an issue, in order to plan a campaign or respond to a consultation as a representative body.

Current campaigns

Make Space for Music

We work to protect affordable, accessible, local regular meeting spaces and performance venues for music groups.
Tax relief for choirs

We are campaigning to make it possible for choirs to claim creative tax reliefs, as instrumental groups already do.
Music libraries

We work at UK, national and local level to ensure these crucial resources remain available to leisure-time music groups
Music education

Read and share our Adult music learning manifesto and find out about under-18s music education in the 4 UK nations
Social prescribing
