Vaughan Williams: A Sea Symphony and A London Symphony

    Elin Pritchard (soprano)
    Gareth Brynmor John (baritone)
    English Arts Chorale
    Eye Bach Choir
    English Arts Orchestra
    Leslie Olive (conductor)

Symphony No 1, 'A Sea Symphony' - Ralph Vaughan Williams
Symphony No 2, 'A London Symphony' - Ralph Vaughan Williams

A rare opportunity to hear both the impressive, crashing, meditative Sea Symphony and the atmospheric London Symphony, with its echoes of street cries and the chimes of Big Ben, in the same concert. The folk artist Moose Rosser will also perform a selection of related folk songs. Join us for this tuneful and varied celebration in the same week as the 150th anniversary of Ralph Vaughan Williams’ birth.

This concert will be repeated the following Saturday in St Edmundsbury Cathedral, Bury St Edmunds. The English Arts Chorale has been performing live music in Surrey and beyond for over 40 years and is excited to present this concert in the area where Vaughan Williams grew up.
