Piano Accompanist

Rehearsals are held on Thursdays at the United Reformed Church, 73 High St, Church Stretton SY6 6BY from 7.30pm – 9.30pm. We have a short break after our Christmas concert and a longer break after our Spring concert. Please see our website for an insight into our history & past concerts.

The successful candidate will be able to help the choir by:-

• Score-reading vocal parts

• Demonstrating vocal lines and harmonies at the piano

• Following the Music Director’s given speed and changes in tempo

• Support the Music Director in leading warm up exercises

In addition, were the candidate able to:-

• Take an occasional full rehearsal (potentially from the piano), in the unexpected absence of the Music Director

• Score-read orchestral scores

that would be advantageous.

The accompanist is paid at a rate in the region of £22.50 per hour, with a normal rehearsal of two-hours.

Suitable individuals may also be asked to take part in concerts.  Such work will be subject to separate renumeration at a mutually agreed rate.
