Cantamus Reigate

Cantamus Reigate meets around two or three times per year for four or five rehearsals and a concert. No-one "joins" the choir but is added to the choir register and then invited to take part in events as and when planned. The experience of potential new singers is assessed by the conductor and then they come along to a rehearsal so we can try each other out. If we're not for them, or they for us, we can part company with no ill feeling. Singers have to be comfortable with minimal rehearsals so should read well or know the repertoire. We plan to rehearse on different weekday evenings and at weekends in the two weeks before the concert. There is a singing fee of £15 for each event to cover expenses. the conductor does not take a fee. Any surplus is donated to a named charity. Our main aim is to have fun performing worthwhile music to a high standard. If we can send performers and audience away from concerts with big grins on their faces, we've won!
