Seeking community choirs

Love Singing is a community engagement initiative by Love Music

Our aim is to promote and support creative, healthy singing communities across Scotland.

To do that, we are seeking 5 community choirs and 5 songwriters to create new works for all community choirs.

What are we looking for in a choir?

Based in Scotland
Addressing digital exclusion is an important part of this project, so you must be open to developing this aspect of your work
Willingness to test approaches to increasing access for isolated and vulnerable people, including those who would be unable to attend in-person rehearsals
Choir members willing to take part in evaluation throughout the project and be consulted on their experiences
Choirs that share our ethos of inclusion, access, equality and celebration of diversity
A range of diverse choirs from across Scotland – in size, online experience and preferred musical style
Choirs that are willing to meet online for regular rehearsals between March and June inclusive, as this is when the bulk of the project will take place for you – you don’t need prior experience meeting online as we can support you to achieve this
Choir leaders who are happy to contribute to writing about the project for the benefit of other community choirs
