Musical Director - Didcot Choral Society (registered charity)
We are a long established and thriving Choral Society in the growing town of Didcot in South Oxfordshire. We have around 60 members with a good balance across the voices and, although we are non-auditioning, we perform traditional and modern choral music to a consitently high standard. We perform three concerts a year (usually early December, Easter and June) as well as collaborations and musical tours.
We are seeking a professional MD from September 2019 for Tuesday rehearsals from 7.30-9.30. Whilst we welcome applications from those at all stages in their career, the successful candidate would be an enthusiastic and skilled musician who shares our emphasis on participation and enjoyment for all singers of whatever ability level. Competitive rates for rehearsals and concerts and good transport links - the rehearsal venue is within easy walking distance of Didcot Parkway station.

Key criteria:
the right candidate will probably be a singer themselves and a trained and skilled musician with experience of working with choral groups
knowledge of appropriate and varied repertoire
enthusiastic and positive approach and ability to share expertise with an amateur group of varied ability and experience
ability to demonstrate technique and maintain good ensemble
experience / skills in working with accompanists and professional instrumentalists
