Music Director of Collegium Singers, Taunton

Musical director required for proficient and committed chamber choir,

In Taunton, Somerset

• COLLEGIUM SINGERS is looking for an energetic and enthusiastic professional musician to work with our auditioned chamber choir of 24-28 able amateur singers based in the Taunton area.  
• The right candidate will preferably be a singer themselves with experience of working with choral groups and have appropriate varied repertoire and the ability to share expertise.
• Ability to demonstrate technique and maintain good ensemble is expected and sufficient keyboard skills to assist in rehearsals is desirable.
• The group performs a wide range of genres, from mediaeval to the present day, and is keen to work with the new Musical Director to explore interesting repertoire.  It has employed professional instrumentalists when appropriate for one/two performances per year.  
• Eight weekly rehearsals (currently Monday evenings) are usually held prior to each of three or four annual concerts, which are held in a variety of venues in the area.

Remuneration is £100 per weekly rehearsal and £450 per concert (to include all preparation and rehearsal on the day)

Closing date for applications is 17th May 2019, interviews to be held 10th June and auditions July 1st and July 8th.
