Cor World Choir is bringing together 20,000 voices from all over the world for a concert in Cardiff’s Millennium stadium on Saturday 21 May 2016.
Choirs (not individuals) can register to take part – it costs £100 and choirs are also responsible for their own transport and other expenses, but it looks like it will be worth the experience! There are already over 10,000 voices signed up and the deadline for adding your group is 18 January 2016.
There’s more general information on their website.
Recent updates include the announcement of Owain Arwel Hughes as conductor alongside musical director Peter Raeburn. We also have more information on the first part of the repertoire, which will include:
- JACOB’S LADDER - male-voice
- STEAL AWAY - male-voice
- CHORUS OF THE HEBREW SLAVES - whole choir of 20,000 voices
- ADIEMUS, Sir Karl Jenkins - whole choir
- HALLELUJAH The Messiah - whole choir
- O FORTUNA, Carmina Burana - whole choir
- ZADOK THE PRIEST - mixed-voice

Cor World Choir aims to record the rehearsal CDs in time for dispatch to all choirs during September. The first music pack will contain the choir material only; this will be followed up by a second music pack with the items to be sung by choirs as accompaniment to the soloists.
