Description of vacancy:
The Stevenage Symphony Orchestra are seeking an enthusiastic Musical Director who will work with the orchestra during rehearsals and concerts in order to skilfully and sensitively develop musicality, knowledge and enjoyment of the music we play.
- We are a small welcoming, amateur orchestra, based in Stevenage.
- We rehearse every Wednesday in term time, from 8pm until 10pm.
- We typically perform three concerts a year in January, March and June, sometimes performing joint concerts with local choirs and other groups.
- As well as performing symphonies and concerti, we also enjoy playing lighter repertoire.
- The Musical Director will also work with the committee in planning varied programmes which engage the interest of the players in the orchestra, as well as being popular with audiences.
