Could you improve our 'wonderful' choral sound?

Polymnia, a high-quality auditioned SATB chamber choir based in Milton Keynes, has a vacancy for a Musical Director from January 2020. Our Patron is Lesley Garrett CBE; we have worked with her to design and present two highly successful joint concerts.  After our last concert together in June she said ‘I was thrilled at the sound the choir made… you have some excellent singers and together make a beautiful sound’. 

We seek an outstanding musician with the personal qualities to motivate and bring out the best in choir members so that we can sustain and enhance our musical standards and our reputation for quality performances.

We typically present three local concerts per year, performing music from a very wide range of different eras, genres and levels of difficulty. In addition we accept invitations to sing at other events, and arrange short tours to such destinations as Croatia, Granada, Mantua, Prague and the Edinburgh Fringe. Our album Sacred Choral Music is available on music streaming services.

The choir rehearses on an as-needed basis for planned events (usually on Friday evenings and Sunday afternoons). Rehearsal and concert fees will be negotiated and are expected to be within the ranges suggested by Making Music. Agreed travel expenses will be paid in addition.
