Choir Accompanist

The Leighton Buzzard Festival Singers are looking for a new accompanist to play for our rehearsals, which take place on Mondays from 7.30-9.30 pm at St Barnabas Church in Leighton Buzzard.

We perform at least two formal concerts each year, alternating between large-scale orchestral concerts and concerts with organ accompaniment. We are non-auditioning but aim for the highest possible standards, with a number of our members being very capable singers and musicians in their own right. The Choir is well-established in the local area, having been founded in 1951 to celebrate the Festival of Britain. Recent concerts have had audiences of around 200 people, and, in recent times, we have added to our schedule with visits to Southwark and St Edmundsbury Cathedrals.

We are looking for a person who has proven experience working as a choir accompanist. The successful candidate may also be willing to lead rehearsals/sectionals from the keyboard on occasion.

Start Date: September 2024

Fees: £70 per rehearsal. Concert fees to be negotiated.

Auditions and interviews for shortlisted candidates will take place on a Monday evening in late June/July, depending on availability, at St Barnabas Church.
