Ealing Voices (formerly Ealing Common Choir) is looking for an accompanist due to relocation.
Our 40-strong choir of mixed voices usually performs three concerts each year, covering a range of classical and more contemporary works. We are non-auditioning choir but strive for high standards and have performed many well-known choral works as well as some more unusual pieces.
We are led by a highly competent and experienced MD, Michael Veazey, a former student of Adrian Partington (Music Director, BBC National Chorus of Wales & Director of Music, Gloucester Cathedral) and Howard Williams (former Music Director, Pecs Symphony Orchestra, staff conductor at ENO, international conductor of orchestras.
We rehearse (with a decent Yamaha grand piano) in the excellent acoustic of St Matthew’s Church on Ealing Common, West London on Thursdays evenings from 7:30 - 9:30pm (during school term times) for approx 42 weeks a year. We perform at St Matthew’s and St Stephen’s Ealing.
St Matthew’s is a few minutes’ walk from Ealing Broadway (Central, Piccadilly & Elizabeth lines) and from Ealing Common (District & PIccadilly Lines).
You should be an enthusiastic and skilled pianist who is a sensitive accompanist with relevant experience of working with amateur choirs. You should have good sight-reading and choir score-reading skills, and be willing to prepare music in advance of rehearsals.
