MUSICAL DIRECTOR – CÔR BRO OGWR
Côr Bro Ogwr, a registered charity, based in Bridgend, South Wales is a non-auditioning, mixed choir of 85 voices currently celebrating its 20th anniversary and is seeking to appoint a highly committed, enthusiastic and suitably qualified Musical Director to maintain and further its development. Its present Musical Director is relocating.
It is looking for someone with suitable conducting experience, strong communication skills, an ability to motivate and inspire and a good sense of humour! A genuine interest in Welsh music and the Welsh choral tradition would be an advantage along with experience working with orchestras/instrumentalists.
The choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings and performs three concerts a year as well as touring every two to three years. Recent tours have included Russia, America and Germany. It is currently rehearsing Howard Goodall’s Eternal Light and Fauré Requiem. In July it will be singing Elgar’s Music Makers.
Selection for the post will take place during June in order that the new MD can start rehearsals in September 2019. End date for applications 30th April.
