Classical Sheffield

Classical Sheffield brings together music-makers in Sheffield and the surrounding area so we can take more music to more places with more people. Sheffield and its locality is home to a wealth of talented orchestras, a variety of choirs, aspiring soloists, conductors, composers and everything in between. We currently have over 70 members of all ages and abilities, from world-class professional artists and talented young musicians to community choirs and groups who just enjoy making music with friends.

We bring our amazing Music Makers and Promoters together and encourage collaboration between groups to present more classical music to more people in more places. As a collective we’ve held three hugely successful Sheffield-wide Classical Weekend Festivals, with the last one in March 2019 reaching over 10,000 people as hundreds of music-makers came together to participate in dozens of free and low-cost events across the city.
