The Stamford Bridge Singers will join forces with four other local choirs and a choir from Norway to perform this unique anniversary concert. Stamford Bridge Singers, Pocklington Singers, Chanticleer Singers, Soon Amore and Vilvin will each perform a short programme, then together they will perform ‘The Battle Cantata’, a new work by Choir Director, Stuart Nettleship, based on the poem ‘The Battle of Stamford Bridge’ by Lawrence Binyon. This exciting cantata will be performed by eight-part choir, semi-chorus, four soloists and full orchestra.
Children from Stamford Bridge Primary School have been designing the concert poster in a competition judged by members of English Heritage. All proceeds from the concert will go to Jessie’s Fund, a UK charity helping children with additional and complex needs to communicate and express themselves through the use of music.
Tickets will be available from 1st August on the Eventbrite website. Also from Take a Leaf florists in Stamford Bridge or by ringing 01904 787181.
