The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra`s New Year`s Day Concert from the fabulous 150 year old Golden Hall of the Vienna Musikverein dates back to 1939. It is one of the most famous concerts in the world. The PCO continues this and its own tradition from Vienna by celebrating the New Year with music from the Strauss family and associates as well as a few surprises to pop open the champagne bottle! The PCO is pleased to welcome award-winning tenor soloist, Andres Presno, directly from and returning to the Royal Opera and Ballet at Covent Garden, to sing arias by Lehar from Land of Smiles, Giuditta and Paganini and Puccini's famous Nessun dorma from Turondot and E lucevan le stellefrom Tosca. The Turning Point Theatre Arts of Lancaster make a welcome return to our concert as they dance to us as choreographed by their tutor, Gail Johnstone.
