Egham Choral is performing ‘Mass in Blue’ by Will Todd on Saturday 12th April at 7.30pm in the Windsor Auditorium, Royal Holloway University, TW20 0EX. The work is a lively setting of the traditional Latin mass using blues and jazz rhythms and is great fun to sing! The programme also includes spirituals arranged by Tippett, Dett and Wilberg.
Conducted by Hugh Beckwith, we will be accompanied by soprano Freya Parry and the Harry Baker Trio plus guest saxophonist. Hugh has just released his first album with his jazz ensemble Standard Deviation, while Harry has collaborated with the likes of Sheku Kanneh-Mason and Jamie Cullum, so we are fortunate to have such talented musicians supporting us. Expect some jazz improvisation during the concert!
We will be collecting donations for Action for A-T, which provides support to those with Ataxia Telangiectasia (A-T), a rare inherited childhood neurological disorder which affects the part of the brain that controls motor and speech.
