Young people

Funding is available for general charitable purposes. Previously the Trust has supported a wide range of different local, national and international causes, including charities working for human medical research, the relief of suffering and respite, and religious and heritage charities.

The G F Eyre Charitable Trust does not maintain a website or an email address. Groups should write to the Trust for further information on how to apply.

Funding is at the discretion of the Trustees. Previous grants have been for between £500 and £4,000.
 

Grants for charitable organisations with outdoor and character-building projects for young people in the North West England as well as for educational, religious and cultural activities and institutions in the North West of England.

The Bowland Charitable Trust offers grants to charitable organisations active in the UK.

The programme is intended to promote:

Outdoor and character-building projects for young people in the North West England.

Educational, religious and cultural activities and institutions.

Grants available to UK charities with particular favour given to Wales for projects in the arts, health and young people.

The charity funds a variety of purposes with special consideration to the arts, health and young people.  In previous years grants have been given, for example, to North Powys Youth Orchestra.  

Grants are available up to £28,000 mainly on a one-off basis.

Funding for projects that enable disabled people and/or older people who are disadvantaged and live in London Boroughs to actively participate in the arts, sports and health and well-being opportunities.

The Ragdoll Foundation’s Open Grant scheme has been designed to support the cultural sector’s work with children and young people. Our vision is to support projects where the concerns of childhood can be heard.

The Trust distributes grants (grant value varies) to charities working predominantly in the areas of Opera, Music and the Visual Arts, and is primarily directed towards the support of activity that benefits Wales.

The Trust is especially interested in projects that demonstrate excellence in the relevant field.

Collaborative projects that assist organisations to share costs, skills and expertise, and that extend the range and reach of the activity to be funded are of particular interest.

The Trust has a preference for supporting organisations in the North Tyneside, South East Northumberland and in the East Newcastle areas. In certain circumstances we may assist those operating in the wider Tyne, Wear, Durham and Northumberland areas if we consider that they offer exceptional added value to their communities or are particularly innovative. Support to national organisations will only be given where there is a specific project in the area in which we operate.

The Charity's origins go directly back to Bishop Vesey, a native of Sutton Coldfield who persuaded Henry VIII to grant a Charter in 1528 establishing a Warden and Society (Corporation) to govern the town. In 1886, the town became a Borough and Sutton Coldfield Charities was set up, taking over the various Corporation Charities within one body. This operated alongside the Council.

The Grants for Sports, Arts, Leisure and Community Groups scheme is provided and administered by Epping Forest District Council. Under this programme, the Council offers the Major Grants and Three-year Revenue Grants.

Funding is intended to assist local voluntary and community groups and organisations that are providing services in line with the Council's objectives and targets.
